Ingredients

1/2 cup butter

1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese

4 garlic cloves

2 cups whole milk

1 1/2 cups grated Parmesan cheese

1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper

Preparation

  1. Melt butter in a medium, non-stick saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Add chopped garlic and cook for two minutes.
  3. Add cream cheese and stir with wire whisk until smooth.
  4. Add milk, a little at a time, whisking to smooth out lumps.
  5. Stir in black pepper.
  6. Turn off the heat.
  7. Stir in Parmesan a little at a time whisking constantly until smooth.
  8. If the sauce is too thick, thin with milk.
  9. Toss with hot pasta to serve.
