Ingredients
2 cups seedless black raisins
2 cups water
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon vinegar
1 tablespoon butter
pastry for double 9-inch crust
Preparation
Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Boil the raisins in 1-3/4 cup water for 5 minutes. Combine sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon and salt and moisten with 1/4 cup water. Add to raisins. Stir just until the mixture begins to boil, then remove from heat and add butter and vinegar. Pour into pastry-lined pan and top with second pastry. Bake 25 minutes.
