Ingredients
1/2 C. Crisco (butter color)
1/2 C. brown sugar
1 C. white sugar
2 eggs
1 C. sour milk or buttermilk
2 tsp. soda
2 1/4 C. flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. salt
2 C. raw apples, peel, diced
Topping:
1/4 C. brown sugar
1/4 C.white sugar
3/4 C. chopped pecans
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
Preparation
Cream together shortening, sugars and eggs in mixing bowl. Dissolve soda in sour milk. Add flour, salt and spices and mix well. Fold in apples. Place in greased 9 x 13 pan and spread with the topping before baking. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 min. or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
