Ingredients

1 t vegetable oil

1 onion-finely chopped

2 cloves-finely chopped

3 T cider vinegar

3/4 c ketchup

2 T pickle relish

2 t spicy brown mustard

1 T worchestershire

1 T molasses

2 t hot sauce

3 1/2 pds meaty chicken pieces

1/2 t salt

1/4 t pepper

Preparation

  1. Prepare grill to med low
  2. Saute onion and garlic in oil in skillet until softened, 5 min. Mix onion, garlic, vinegar, ketchup, pickle relish, mustard, worchestershire, molasses and hot sauce in a small bowl. Season chicken with salt and pepper.
  3. Grill chicken, uncovered, directly over coals for 5 minutes, until browned. Turn over, spoon sauce on chicken. Grill 5 min. turn over, spoon on more sauce. Move to cooler side of grill. Cover grill. grill 10 min. Spoon on sauce. Turn every 5 min until internal temp register 165, about 50 minutes more. Do not spoon on sauce in last 10 min.
