Ingredients

1 1/2 cups flour

1 cup sugar

1/3 cup cocoa

1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon

3/4 tsp. baking soda

1/4 tsp salt

1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper

1/4 tsp. ginger

1 cup water

1/2 cup oil (vegetable)

1 tbsp. vinegar

1 tsp. vanilla

icing sugar

Preparation

In medium bowl, combine first 8 ingredients(flour through ginger).Add water, oil, vinegar and vanilla; whisk just until blended. Pour batter into a greased 8 in. square baking pan. Bake at 350 for 35 - 40 minutes or until cake tests done. Cool in pan on rack. Just before serving, sift icing sugar over cake. May be frozen.
