Ingredients

1 pound ground round

3 ounces blue cheese chunks

1/4 cup coarsely chopped red onion

1/4 cup coarsely chopped white onion

1 cup chunky tomato salsa

1 small avocado

Sour cream

Salt and pepper to taste

Preparation

Preheat gas grill or allow charcoal to ash over. Crumble blue cheese into a medium mixing bowl. Add chopped onions and mix lightly. Add ground round. Using both hands, quickly incorporate onion and blue cheese mix into beef. Form beef into three patties 1/2" to 3/4" thick. Slice avocado into three thick slices. Grill burgers over medium-high heat until medium-rare to medium, turning once only. Do not overcook and do not press burgers with spatula.

Season with salt and pepper to taste. Top with avocado slice, salsa and a dollop of sour cream.
