Ingredients

2 C. sugar

2 C. white vinegar

1 tsp. celery seed

1 tsp. mustard seed, optional

1/2 tsp. dill weed

1 T. salt

1 onion, sliced (sweet onion, preferred)

6 cucumbers, peeled, sliced thin

Preparation

In saucepan heat first seven ingredients over medium heat until sugar is dissolved. Place onions and cucumbers into a bowl with a cover. Pour heated ingredients over onions and cucumbers. Cover and refrigerate for 3 or 4 days before eating. Stores well in refrigerator. You may continue to add onions and cucumbers to left over ingredients.
