Ingredients
12 Ripe figs
6 oz. Gorgonzola, chopped into 1/4" dice
Salt and freshl ground black pepper
For the Sauce:
2 Tbs honey
2 Tbs red wine vinegar
Preparation
You will need a shallow baking pan, 10 x 14 “, oiled.
Preheat broiler to its highest setting.
Halve the figs, place them cut-side up in the baking pan. Season with S & P, and place in broiler 5-6 minutes, until they are soft and bubbling slightly. Take out to put cheese on top of figs and place back in broiler for 1-2 minutes, until cheese is bubbling. Meanwhile, make the sauce by combining the honey and vinegar, then serve figs with the sauce poured over them.
