Ingredients
Dough
1 pkg Pillsbury Hot Roll Mix
1 c. water 120-130 degrees
2 Tb. soft butter
1 egg
Filling
1/4 c. olive oil
2 cloves garlic crushed
1/2 c. chopped fresh basil
1/2 c. grated parmesan
Topping
1 egg, slightly beaten
1 Tb. coarse salt
1 Tb. chopped fresh basil
Preparation
Combine flour and yeast from roll mix. Stir in water, butter and egg until dough pulls away from the side of the bowl. Knead 5 minutes. Let rest 5 minutes.
Divide dough in half. Roll each into a 14x9-inch rectangle. Combine garlic and oil and spread over dough. Combine basil and parmesan and sprinkle over dough.
Roll dough into a log. Pinch the seam. Place on a cookie sheet, seam-side down. Brush with beaten egg. Sprinkle with salt and basil. Let rise 30 minutes.
Bake 20-30 minutes at 350 degrees. Cool. Slice thin. Store in refrigerator.
