Ingredients

2 onions, chopped

2 tablespoons minced garlic

1-2 fresh jalapeños, minced

1/4 cup neutral oil

2 pounds tomatoes, chopped

1 12-ounce bottle of beer

1 tablespoon brown sugar

1/4 cup lime juice

1/4 cup cilantro

2 tablespoons tequila

Tortilla chips

Preparation

  1. Cook onions, minced garlic and minced fresh jalapeños in neutral oil for 5 minutes. 2. Add tomatoes, beer and brown sugar. 3. Simmer until the mixture is thick, 20 to 30 minutes. 4. Purée with lime juice and cilantro and tequila. Serve with tortilla chips.
